Using Apps to Create Authentic Work

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The session is designed as a collaborative learning session for participants to improve their skills of using iPads to create authentic ways for students to demonstrate their knowledge of content.  Participants will first hear the journey taken in the implementation of using iPads for all assignments.  Then the participants will be shown examples of authentic work that students have produced to demonstrate content proficiency in both 5th grade math and science.  Through the examples, the presenter will show participants how to fuse two or more iPad apps together in 1 assignment to unlock the full potential of students' creativity and to see the students' level of understanding.  Finally, participants will be able to work on creating a sample product that they can use in their classrooms next fall to help bring the learning back to their classroom.  Participants will be able to share and view each other’s work through a gallery walk.  The presenter will help facilitate participants through the workings of the app.  Throughout the session, participants are encouraged to ask questions, offer comments, stories, examples, suggestions, and feedback about their own experiences.  Participants will be invited to join in collaboration to share lessons and products for iPad work.
